Demonstration against the Industrial Relations Bill, London, 1971

An estimated 140,000 people marched from Hyde Park to rally in Trafalgar Square. The TUC claimed that it was the largest demonstration against Government legislation to take place in Great Britain in the 20th century. This photo shows a group of Asian workers with the banner from the West Bromwich District of the Transport and General Workers Union. A 17 minute colour film of the event entitled 'March' was made and distributed as part of the campaign.
