Women members of the Amalgamated Union of Engineering Workers on the picket line at the Wingrove and Rogers Company in Kirby, Liverpool. The company specialised in the manufacture of electric mining locomotives, forklifts, and electrical trucks, but from 1965 went through a period of competition from Europe and the Far East coupled with severe credit restrictions and rising costs. During the 1980s Wingrove and Rogers ceased trading.
