Sanders participated in the 1917 British Labour Delegation to Russia and supported the Provisional Government’s efforts to continue the war. This pamphlet criticises the peace treaty signed on 3 March 1918 at Brest-Litovsk in Poland between the new Bolshevik government of Soviet Russia and the Central Powers (Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire), that ended Russia's participation in World War I.
