Port Workers News

The unofficial journal 'Port Workers News' was published in London by the Port Workers' committee. Between 1948-1951 Port Workers' committees were established in London, Manchester and Liverpool in support of a "Dockers Charter", which focused on a daily guaranteed wage of 25 shillings, pensions and decasualisation.

The main article in this June 1951 issue concerns the report of the committee of inquiry into unofficial stoppages in the London Docks, chaired by Sir Frederick Leggett.
