Peace with Soviet Russia, a leaflet published by the Council of Action in August 1920 demanding that British troops would not be sent to fight against Russia, calling for an end to the blockade, and the re-establishment of diplomatic and trading relations. The Russian-Polish War of 1919-1921 was a conflict over territory in present-day Ukraine and Belarus. The British government announced that they would send military supplies to Poland to assist the Poles in their fight against the Bolshevik forces. The TUC and Labour Party responded by threatening national strike action and established Councils of Action to resist British intervention.
