This photo was brought back by the TUC Delegation to the Soviet Union, 1924. The TUC delegation visited Russia, Ukraine the Caucasus and other areas of the Soviet Union between November-December 1924.

The placards carried by the marchers are all front covers of “Communist International” the official magazine of the Moscow-based Communist International (Comintern). The Placard on the left leading the procession is the cover of the 9th edition of the magazine (1920) showing a worker breaking the chains which bind the workers of the world. The words in large print are “Communist International”. Other banners show “Articles about war” “China” and “Aviation Tactics.”
