Welcome addess from the Red Triangle Rubber Factory, 1925

A text translation of this welcome address given to the 1925 British Women’s Trade Union Delegation to Russia reads: 12,775 men workers, women workers and employees of the State Rubber Industry Plant “Red Triangle” greet the Women Representatives of the British Trade Unions. Your visit will strengthen the ties between Russian and British workers, who share a common goal. Bound together by this shared aim, the British unions and the unions of the USSR will proceed more confidently and firmly along the road of struggle against capital. We hope that the British trade unions and the trade unions of the USSR will be able to unite in the near future into a powerful international union of workers from all over world. Long live the unity of Russian and English workers. Long live the British trade unions. Long live the unity of workers throughout the whole world. Signed the Factory Committee of the “Red Triangle” Plant.
Founded in Leningrad, now Saint Petersburg, in the 1860s, the plant became the largest rubber goods factory in Russia and Europe. In 1918 the plant was nationalised and then called “Krasny Treugolnik” - Red Triangle. It is now closed and abandonned.
