Now for the Second Front

Communist Party poster calling for the opening up of a Second Front and congratulating the Prime Minister on the Dieppe Raid. On 19 August 1942, 6000 troops (mainly Canadian) landed at Dieppe. They were immediately attacked by German troops and within a few hours 4,000 of the men were either killed, wounded or captured. The poster includes a cartoon by Philip Zec, reprinted from the Daily Mirror, of Goebbels being hit by an Allied soldier.
