London Trades Council meeting, 1862

Report in the 'Beehive' newspaper of the London Trades Council delegate meeting held in the Bell Inn, Old Bailey on 25th November 1862.

The Council was concerned with a number of international issues and this meeting expressed opposition to slavery and support for the Northern States in the American Civil War, and also received a deputation from the Trades Garibaldian Demonstration Committee, which was planning a series of events and demonstrations to welcome Garibaldi on his visit to London.

This report is located in the first minute book of the London Trades Council.
