Press reports of various strikes in 1943. Two of the cuttings refer to disputes over the wages of women and equal pay. The numbers of strikes and days lost through strikes increased in each year of the war. In 1943, there were over 1785 disputes with 890,000 days lost, mainly in coal mining.
