Production Drive in Engineering - 'New Propellor', 1941

Following the invasion of the Soviet Union by Nazi Germany in June 1941, the Communist Party and its industrial network called for increased war production and the opening of a second front to help Russia.

The 'New Propellor' was published by the Engineering and Allied Trades Shop Stewards National Council, which organised a production conference in October 1941, which it claimed was attended by 1237 delegates from over 300 war factories. The council was influential in the widespread acceptance of factory Joint Production Committees.
