London Dock Strike, 1889

Commemorative emblem drawn by T.W. Camm and reprinted in the 'Transport and General Workers' Record', September 1939.

The emblem gives prominence to the financial help sent by the Australian workers. It also lists the names of the strike leaders and the dock workers' demands - an increase in wages to 6d (2½p) per hour, with 8d for overtime, a minimum employment period of four hours and an end to contract work.
