The 'Daily Herald' first appeared as a four page strike-sheet issued by the London Society of Compositors during the printing-strike and lockout January-April 1911. In March 1912 the 'Daily Herald' reappeared as a permanent Labour movement daily newspaper but was financially insecure for many years.
