Passes for trade union officials, Ann Godwin

From 1940, passes were provided for union officials to access factories engaged on Government work and other restricted defence areas. By September 1940, 1250 passes had been issued to full-time officials but 13 had been withheld by the Ministry for Home Security. The TUC also negotiated special Exit permits for officials needing to travel to Ireland and set up a network of Trade Union Petrol Liaison Officers to ensure petrol and spare parts were available for cars. This card belonged to Anne Godwin of the Association of Women Clerks and Secretaries and later the Clerical and Administrative Workers Union.
