Jobs Express Poster - Give us a future, 1981

As part of its Jobs for Youth Campaign in November 1981, the TUC organised a Jobs Express train which travelled around the country focusing attention on the demands of young unemployed people and students. The train, travelled from Newcastle to London via Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham, Swansea, Cardiff and Bristol. At each stop a rally was held and a new contingent of young people joined the train, with 450 on board by the time it reached London, where various events were organised including concerts, a lobby of Parliament and a march from Hyde Park to Jubilee Gardens.
