This cartoon in the April 21, 1945 issue of New Dawn, the magazine of the National Union of Distributive and Allied Workers, shows the hopes placed in the establishment of the United Nations for a lasting peace and a better world. The TUC unsuccessfully lobbied the Coalition Government to be allowed to send representatives to the UN founding conference in San Francisco, USA April-June 1945.
